Customer Self Care
Customer self care is the process of allowing the customer to review and/or activate and disable services without the direct assistance of a customer service representative (CSR). Customer self care can be as simple as providing account billing information to the customer by telephone through the use of an interactive voice response (IVR) system to providing interactive service activation menus on an Internet web site. Customer Self Care Operation
This figure shows that a customer self-care system can be used to review product or service options, check billing records, and change customer feature options (called "provisioning"). This diagram shows that the customer can contact the billing and customer care system via a gateway. The gateway may contain Internet web access (for graphic displays) or interactive voice response (IVR) systems to allow the customer to select their account, receive billing and customer care information, and possibly change feature options.
