Preferred Interexchange Carrier - PIC
A preferred interexchange carrier is the assignment or use of an inter-exchange carrier to complete calls from a customer outside their systems calling area. The PIC code is obtained when a customer dials a number that requires inter-exchange carrier (IXC) service.
